Every organisation exist in market operated their business to achieve their own predetermined  aims and objectives so as to achieve growth and sustain in market for longer period of time. Due to this, the management always tried to adopt an effective strategies regarding adoption of advanced technologies in order to develop business operations in profitable manner. Therefore, adoption of digital technologies in business environment is must as it helps company in running business more smoothly and achieve competitive advantage as well. The company normally uses digital technologies to manage business functions such as marketing, human resource, accounts etc. through adopting an effective tools and techniques such as computer software applications, internet services, networking and Information Technologies services within firm (Crane and Matten, 2016).

Background of Project:

In order to sustain in competitive market for longer period of time, every organisation focuses on bring something new and innovative in their working structure so as to improve the productivity and profitability of company. As the business environment is complex and contingent in nature which forces an organisation to make changes in their business structure so as to achieve growth and goals without any interruptions. Digital adoption brings profitable outcome to company in terms of increasing productivity and efficiency in work. Therefore, it must required for every organisation irrespective of the size whether small, medium or large to adopt digital technologies in order to enhance the quality of work, recording valuable documentations and many more due to which the company's cost and time will be saved and brings positive outcome to company.

Topic: Title topic of this is to achieve growth and expand their business operations in order to accomplish higher customer base.  A case study of Rowlinson Knitwear”.

Aims: The main aim of this company is to achieve growth and expand their business operation in order to achieve huge customer base (Den Hertog,  Van der Aa and De Jong,2010).

Objectives:

• To evaluate the impact and effectiveness of digital adoption in Rowlinson Knitwear.
• To enhance communication skills as well as procedures in order to resolve issues in well manner.
• Maximise the quality of their services.
• To provide diversified services.

Research questions:

• What are the outcomes that company received after adoption of digital disruption on Rowlinson Knitwear?
• What are the transformation the company faced while adopting digital disruption in Rowlinson Knitwear?
• How company uses digital disruption in resolving issues and problems?

Gantt chart: It defines all activities which need to conducted through an organisation in order to complete whole project. It represents the schedule of project in systematic manner. Under this, there are number of steps which need to be followed. Such steps includes:

• Literature review
• Justification of issue
• Defining terms and concepts
• Defining population
• Data collection
• Data analysing
• Concluding report and giving recommendations
• Submission of report

It is necessary for Rowlinson Knitwear to follow all given steps in systematic manner. In addition to thus (Trevino and Nelson, 2016). Action plan is determined as under:

P4: Small-scale research by applying qualitative and quantitative research methods

It is essential for an organisation to identify the opinions and perception of customers as well as employees regarding the implementation of digital technology. For this, it is important for company to conduct research in market and select respondents whose feedbacks and opinions are considered in making an effective decision and plans. Therefore, it must required to hire researcher who conduct research for them and provide them relevant information about the views and perception of customers towards adoption of digital technology. After making proper analysis of research with the help of using research methodologies, the management are able to bring out better finding or outcomes related with research project. During conducting research, different types of methods shall be used to gather relevant data. Such methods includes:

Qualitative method: It is considered an an effective method which help in collecting and analysing the behaviour and perception towards digital disruption. There are number of methodologies which are used by Rowlinson Knitwear in order to gather the views and opinions of customers. Such methodologies includes questionnaire, interviews and observation through which the reliable and accurate information about people's perception towards digital disruption are gathered by researcher. It allows management to make an effective decisions and plans in order to get better possible outcomes (Incelli, 2013).

Quantitative method: While conducting research, the data has been collected in numerical form as well which directs management to understand the clear thoughts and views of customers towards digital disruptions. In this, the data relating to content of research will be represented in statistical or graphical form so that profitable decision shall be made by management.

Both methods are different from each other as qualitative methods focuses on getting quality data whereas quantitative methods focuses on numerical and logical data so as to make future decision (Lai  and Ong, 2010).

Primary research: Under this research, the researcher has preferred to collect fresh and reliable data through using various tools and techniques such as feedback analysis, questionnaire method, observation, interviews and other many activities. It is considered as first hand information which are more reliable and accurate due to which the chances of formulating an effective decision and plans will be more. Such kind of method is used for both quantitative and quantitative research in order to achieve better possible outcomes. It is important for Rowlinson Knitwear to consider all such gathered information and on  the basis of which suitable modifications shall be developed.

Secondary research: Under this research, second hand information shall be used by researcher in order to analysing the behaviour and perception of customers towards digital disruptions. Collecting data through articles, magazines, books, journals and many more due to which the reliability and accuracy of data will be less. It consumes less time and money but due to inaccurate data, the chances of making an effective decision will be low (Otley and Emmanuel,  2013).

To conduct an effective research, researcher is required to prepare a questionnaire in which relevant questions about content of research are mentioned. To collect relevant information, researcher should required to select 40 respondents in order to get opinions and views regarding topic. Such respondents are the regular customers of Rowlinson Knitwear.

Task 3

P5: Research and data using appropriate tools and techniques

Under this research, the feedbacks of 40 respondents which includes regular customers and employees as well are need to be considered in order to reach to an effective decision about adoption of digital technologies. The data analysis of theme with an interpretation which are given as below:

Interpretation: It has been identified from the above graph that most of the respondents are in favour of adoption of digitalisation in Rowlinson Knitwear. There are 28 respondents who thinks that digitalisation brings profitable outcomes to company whereas 12 respondents thinks that not much profitable outcomes will be received by company.

Interpretation: It has been observed from the above graph that there are 20 respondents who thinks that IT software and technology will be more suitable for company to achieve desired goals and objectives whereas hybrid wireless technologies comes in second for better suitable.

 Interpretation: From the above graph, it has been find out that mots of the customers are in the favour of adoption of Cloud Technology. There are 16 respondents which tells that cloud technology help company in achieving desired goals and objectives whereas e-commerce and scanning option comes in second and third respectively.

 Interpretation: As per above data, most of the respondents thinks that adoption of digital technologies do not bring more challenges and difficulties to an organisation. There are 28 respondents who thinks that no difficulties are faced by company. On the other hand, 12 respondents are also there who thinks opposite.

Interpretation: It has been clearly show from the above graph that transformation brings maximum favourable result to company. According to the opinion of 28 respondents, transformation maximises the satisfaction level and quality of clothing products of Rowlinson Knitwear whereas there are 13 respondents who thinks different and disagree with this.

Interpretation:  As it can been seen clearly from the above graph that dearth of the clear vision is an area in which digital technology makes negative impact where as leveraging and big data are also other areas which are much negatively affected from such technology. There are 18 respondents who thinks that dearth of clear vision are much affected areas due to which the management of Rowlinson need to focus on such areas.

Interpretation: It is essential for Rowlinson Knitwear to focus on maintaining their business operations and other activities which are related with digital transformation and disruption. From the above graph, it can clearly identified that the company can manage its IT related services in order to transform the business whereas organising digital platform are also better option but not more as compared to IT related services.

Interpretation: The above data encourages company to adopt digital technologies in order to gain long-term advantages. There are 32 respondents who thinks that digitalisation brings long-term benefits to company whereas remaining 8 respondents thinks differently.

P6: Communicate appropriate recommendation

Digital disruption and transformation not only only brings advantages to company but also brings more challenges and difficulties due to which the management of Rowlinson Knitwear need to carefully consider various aspects related with adoption of digital technology and manage the problems in more effective and efficient manner.  It is essential for company to bring out new optimum ways to deal with problems and challenges  so as to achieve desired result (Shang, 2012). It should be recommended that the managers should required to conduct training and learning programs for their employees in order to increases their knowledge about successfully implementation and utilisation of digital technology. Firm also required to update their existing machinery and equipment used in manufacturing process so that quality of clothing products can be improved. Through this, large number of customers are easily attracted towards the company's products and services.

P7: Value of undertaking the research

After making proper analysis of whole project report, it can be clearly seen that digital transformation is important in modern era as it help in reducing cost and bring easiness in the execution of business operation. Adoption of digitalisation consumes less time as the management set time frame or schedule which directs the management and employees to focus on successfully implementation so that an organisation can get various benefits from such advanced technology. Rowlinson Knitwear is required to manage and control challenges and problems that comes in the process of implementation of digital technology through adopting various tools and techniques. As without having advanced technology, the company may various problems such as big data leverage, hacking and other challenges (Digital Disruption: Dealing With The Flip Side Of Digital Transformation, 2016).

This project was undertaken with efforts to enhance business outcome of this project, in the given point of time along with understanding of an issues and problem that were faced after using of the critical techniques or tools.

I learned several things while preparing this project. Along with this, I also faced some difficulties related with managing time and cost. I have less time and funds as well due to which the activities are not performed as per the expectations. During research, I have also found that there are many factors which influences the decisions of company regarding implementation of advanced technology. Such factors includes political, social, legal, environmental etc. I learned lots of things that how to deal with issues and challenges and what are suitable techniques that will bring profitable result to company. It help me to know the impact of digital technology along with their benefits and disadvantages. If firm will focus on adopting advanced technology then it will create many competitive opportunities to business in an effective and efficient manner.

Conclusion

It has been concluded from the above project report that digital technology brings many advantages and competitive opportunities to the company due to which the management required to focus on successfully implementation of such technology in their working procedure. Rowlinson Knitwear is small sized company which deals in providing clothing products for particular segments therefore to expand their business and attain strong position in market, it should required to adopt advanced technology in business operations. Work breakdown structure and Gantt chart are also required to be focused by the management.
