1.4 Research methodology

It is considered as essential stage in conducting research, it defined as well organized and systematic procedure for collecting information and data by researcher to cater the better solutions of specific research issues that effect findings. Along with this, it enables researcher to determine the issue which is needed to be analysed and investigate in order to complete and execute set aim as well as objective in this research report (Kumar, 2019). Moreover, research methodology is comprises systematic and theoretical evaluation from which investigator acquires reliable or valuable results in effective manner. In addition to this, it includes research philosophies, data collection, approaches, data analysis, ethical consideration and sampling methods, so on with the aim of providing authentic and valid research study in prescribed time period without any hindrances.

Research philosophies-

It connects with those aspects in which its intend individual value and belief in collecting, evaluating, utilizing and gathering specified set of information to specific phenomena. Research philosophies allow researcher to make use of all essential and available resources at optimal stage that support to complete their goal in systematic manner. It divided into two categories such positivism and interpretivism (Mackey, and Gass, 2015). In this research researcher uses interpretivism research philosophy as it utilize quantitative method.

Research approaches-

It is the another method of research methodologies, refer to process or plan which is consists of phases of large assumptions to elaborated procedure of analysing, collecting as well as interpretation of data (Silverman, 2016). Research approaches is divided into three categories such as adductive, deductive and inductive, each category contains their own attribute and function to utilize the best judgement for specified field of survey. In regard to this project, investigator uses inductive research approach as it make researcher able to get more knowledge about chosen topic and detailed information related to this effectively. It helps to analyse different models and theories for producing appropriate and relevant study.

Research design-

With the use of survey, observation, questionnaire and interview primary data is gathered effectively that help to cater first-hand data to researcher and also help to deliver authentic report in stipulated time period. With the help of using secondary method for collecting data which is already available within marketplace, researcher gathered reliable and valuable information. This is mainly associated with the dimension of gender, culture, sexual orientation, socio- economic status, ideologies, socio economic status, etc. Thompson, (2016) argued that, in order to attain equality and diversity within the workplace the company must focus on giving equal opportunity to the employees, proper training, equal pay scale, equal promotion and growth opportunities. Equality and diversity states that, employees in the organization should be treated equally regardless of the race, religion, ethnicity gender, belief, attitude, etc. Training to each employees must be given which helps in developing their skills and give them equal opportunity to perform all the task. Equality and diversity within the workplace results in higher employee satisfaction which leads to higher operational growth, performance and productivity for the business.

To promote and achieve the Equality and Diversity workforce.

Moore and Tailby, (2015) determined that, Equality and Diversity within the workforce is important because it helps in retaining talented and prospective customers within the business. Promotion of equality and diversity within the workplace is important because it helps in giving fair treatment and equal opportunities to individuals. This in turn will help company in thriving people of all backgrounds in order to achieve higher success. In order to promote equality and diversity in the organization the management of the organization must focus on identifying the unconscious biasses. Nachmias, Ridgway and Caven, (2019) argued that, in order to promote and achieve the Equality and Diversity workforce the company must focus on complying with several equality laws and equality act, 2010 which in turn is useful in smooth and legal functioning of the business. This helps individual to be free from prejudice and discrimination. Involving employees of the organization helps in making strategic decision. Promoting and achieving equality and diversity within the workplace helps employees in giving equal opportunity to grow and learn within organization.

To practice the Equality and Diversity situation in the work place.

Thompson, (2017) established the fact that, practising equality and diversity within the work place helps in employee satisfaction and higher retention of employees which in turn is useful in delivering best services to the customers. Treating all employees with equal respect results I higher operational performance and productivity. Bowl, (2018) argued that, The company must practice on creating inclusive culture for the employees where all individuals of different caste, religion, race, etc. are treated with equal respect and integrity. In order to ensure that, equal access to the learning process to the individual results in higher operational growth and productivity. Enabling all employees to reach their full potential is one of the effective practice which in turn helps in promoting equality and diversity within the work place.

To determine effective strategy to promote equality and diversity.

It also helps in providing better career opportunities and higher learning experience to the individuals. 10% said that, Equality and diversity focus on boosting up the morale of the employees which leads to higher employee retention.

Theme 4: Yes, implementing equal opportunity at workplace company helps in building diverse workforce.  

Interpretation: From the above conducted study from 10 respondents of Costa coffee organization in UK. 70% sought to determine the fact that, implementation of equal opportunity at workplace company helps in building diverse workforce. It helps in promoting workforce diversity and is also useful in eliminating harassment and discrimination. Equal opportunity to employees can be given by training and development, equal pay scale, application of policies, higher promotion, etc. This helps in better learning outcomes and also helps employees to perform all the activities with utmost accuracy and standards. Remaining 20% were not sure about this theme.

Theme 5: Highly agreed, providing fair treatment, Costa coffee organization develop good relationships with its workers.

Maximum number of respondents sought to evaluate that, different diverse workforce in the organization and acceptance of each culture and attitude is considered to be major challenge for the business. Generation gap and language barrier is also considered to be major challenge for the business.

Theme 10: Effective recommendation strategies which helps in promoting equality and diversity.

Interpretation: From the above conducted study from 10 respondents of Costa coffee organization in UK. Maximum number of respondents sought to evaluate that, creation of a diverse and friendly workforce is an effective strategy for promoting equality and diversity within the workplace. As supported by literature review, offering diverse opportunities to employees, communicating clearly and creating employee led task helps in timely assignment of responsibilities which in turn leads to higher operational growth and efficiency. Integration of equality policies, empowering and educating managers and creating mentorship programs is very useful in promoting equality and diversity within the workplace.

3.2 Accuracy and authenticity of tool.

Questionnaire is considered to be one of the effective tool as it helps in determining that reliability and validity of the tool. This tool is useful because it helps in gaining better insight on the subject matter. This tool helps in gaining viewpoints of various respondents which helps in broadening knowledge on the particular subject matter. Cronbach's alpha is used to determine the reliability of the data which helps in attaining higher goals and objectives.

3.3 Recommendation.

Today the company has expanded across cross borders and has spread into various businesses. There are large number of people that are working with the organisation and it is essential for the organisations to maintain an environment where people have equality in diversity (Moore and Tailby, 2015). Companies are working in different countries with diverse cultures and people of different mindsets. Today there are various organisations that makes discrimination in the employees on the basis of different factors like race, religion, genders and many more. This is becoming a very serious concern for the organisation to consider. Organisations are lacking behind because they are not taking the discrimination. It is essential for companies to ensure that issues regarding equality and diversity are solved by the companies at initial levels. If they are not resolved at the initial level they can affect the growth and success of the organisation. These issues are affecting the growth of the organisation and it internal workings. In an organisation equality in the workforce is important, else it would result in various issues that will affect the organisation. The equality and diversity is to be established so that employees with diverse backgrounds and culture could be retained that are adding value in the success of the organisation (Nachmias, Ridgway and Caven, 2019). They influence the decision-making making process within the organisation. There should be strict actions against discrimination between employees on the basis of their gender, culture or race. Companies should ensure that employees are promoted on the work and experiences and not on discriminatory basis. It will affect the productivity of company as the efficient employees will not be putting their full efforts. They should employ effective communication channels where they can share the issues faced by them within the organisation. Organisation should include in its core values equality and diversity and implement them within the organisation effectively.

1.1 Reflection on values of undertaking research and objectives.

Forming research objective is an important and effective role in the research project. While conducting the present research, an effective plan and process was implemented by me and that worked effectively in order to complete the respective research. This research project is help m in order to develop my professional skills. In order to achieve objective with respect to give project, I have done hard work by using my skills. This helped me in enhancing my personal skills and also developed by professional skills as I communicated to many working employees and learned new things out of them. This research project also helped me in understanding the importance of equality and diversity at a work place and how an organization can develop the same. At the time of research, I faced many problems with respect to data collection and its interpretation. There were many employees who were neutral towards the questions asked and I become tough for me to analyse their point of view. However, I put my hard contribution and that resulted in achievement of my aims and objectives. The best part of the research is that, it gave me a new experience to understand the corporate world and the issues that they face in implementing equality and diversity. The skills that I developed like communication skills, interpersonal skills, time management skills etc. will be helping me in may near future projects and it will also be helpful in my professional development.

1.2 Reflection on importance of project management process.

At the time of research project, the effective plan and process is implemented by me in order to complete research in respective manner. This research project is help me in order to develop my practical skills by managing proper project management process. Project management process is very important and effective process through that I am able to complete research with proper management. This helps me for managing funds, time and scope of research project like research on topic is required money for purchasing stationary and travelling expenses. This creates more satisfactory result of research. Understanding importance of project management is more important and effective for me because this shows more effectiveness of research in appropriate manner. The skill I developed like budget making skills, time management skills, understandings skills. This creates more effectiveness for me and my work. On the other side that is important for conducting appropriate research in an effective manner. During development of project management plan, I have faced various problem which is arranging money and collaboration with team members and other. This problem I have solved me by using my appropriate skills in proper manner. By using proper project management process quality of research has increased and provide proper surety about research result is best. This helps me in meeting objectives and supporting my own learning and performance. This develops my all learning knowledge, skills and information about the practical knowledge in an appropriate manner.
